The above differential unit has a vacuum diff lock, the replacement diff center unit has been designed to fit range rover, land rover & Toyota Hilux. The lockable carrier has a slip ring which is connected by four rods to an internally splined locking slip ring which can lock one axle gear to the carrier. "The same locking carrier" can be fitted to a standard range rover, land rover or Toyota Hulux differential. Provision must be made to the differential banjo housing to fit the vacuum actuator to work the diff lock. This vacuum actuated designed differential lock can be adapted to most differentials. The vacuum supply from the engine is utilised via a three port switch mounted in the cabin to operate the diff lock.
