An Evaluation Board is a General Purpose board with a micro-controller and generally with a way to download and run user’s program on it. These are very useful as a quick development aid – for example, if you plan to make a micro-controller based product, it can be very convenient to buy and use an off-the-shelf evaluation board like Mini51 , so you can immediately start testing your software on the board.
