Hard Ferrite magnets, also known as ceramic magnets, are made of a sintered composite of powdered iron oxide and barium/strontium carbonate by die pressing and then sintering. Hard Ferrite magnets are easy to work with and well-balanced in their magnetic properties. In addition, they have excellent corrosion resistance with a normal working temperature range between - 40 C to + 250 C. Due to the low cost of the material and manufacturing method, HF magnets are relatively inexpensive and are the most widely used magnet today. While the magnetic strength is higher than, for example, AlNiCo magnets they are typically much weaker than NdFeB magnets.
