The SSCT (surface stabilized cholesterol texture) LCD takes advantage of the natural stability of orientation in cholesterol molecules to "memorize" the process of a photoelectric effect, highly desirable when people are concerned about energy conservation. Once a picture is shown, it stays on the screen even after the power is turned off. Another remarkable property of the SSCT LCD is that it dose not require a polarizer to be viewable. Besides saving on polarize costs, this feature not only enables a wide viewing angle of 360 degree, but also improve the luminosity tremendously.
