Incoloy 800HT
Features and applications overview:
The alloy is resistant to many corrosive media. Its higher nickel content makes it has a good resistance to stress corrosion cracking in aqueous corrosion conditions. It has better resistance to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion cracking because of the high chromium content. The alloy has good resistance to nitric acid, organic acid corrosion, but limited corrosion resistance to sulfur acid and hydrochloric acid. The alloy has good corrosion resistance in oxidizing and non-oxidizing salts except slight corrosion occurs in halides. Also it has good corrosion resistance in a mixture of water, smoke, steam, air and carbon dioxide. The alloy is applied to the condenser nitrate, nitric acid corrosion resistance, steam heating pipe and the heating element tube.

The metallurgical structure of Incoloy 800HT:
Incoloy 800HT is of the face-centered cubic lattice structure. Very low carbon content and improved ratio of Ti:C enhance the stability of the structure and allergy resistance as well as resistance to intergranular corrosion. The low temperature annealing around 950°C ensures the fine grain structure.
The process performance and requirements of Incoloy 800HT:
1, The alloy is suitable for both hot processing and cold processing. However, due to having a high strength, it requires high- power processing equipment.
2, The thermal processing range of the alloy is 1200°C-900°C. The cooling method is water quenching or rapid cooling 760-540°C. Thermal bending is conducted between 1000 to 1150°C.
3, Incoloy alloy 825HT has good weldability by all conventional processes, such as tungsten electrode inert gas welding, plasma arc welding, hand-sub-arc welding, metal inert gas welding, metal inert gas shielded arc welding, protective gas arc welding, and so on.
