The "Savanah" doll was first created by African-American slaves in the early 1800s. The talent and ability to create these dolls has passed down through 5 generations. Each doll is double - stitched onto a pin cusion material, with detail to the features of the dolls hands, shoulders and figure. Each doll face us also hand painted to create a human likeness.
