Kaili arresters are designed and tested in accordance with IEC 60099-4. The standard Kaili arrester consists of a stack of metal oxide discs housed in a sealed porcelain housing. On the end faces of each disc, a conducting surface is applied to assure proper contact and uniform current distribution.
Kaili arresters provide exceptional dynamic and transient over voltage protection of major power system equipment. Under normal system conditions, the arrester conducts less than one milliampere. During dynamic transient over voltage the arrester conducts only the current necessary to limit the over voltage. As a result, Kaili arresters absorb minimum energy to protect equipment insulation.
The Kaili arrester provides both excellent protective characteristics and temporary over voltage capability. The gapless construction provides a design, which is simple and reliable while remaining economical.
