OMEGA TYPE DRBC-115 Decade Resistance Boxes & TYPE MO-121 Megohm Boxes are precision instruments intended for general laboratory use and educational purposes. These are used as a multiplier, shunt, substitution resistor, or as an arm for AC or DC bridges. One percent precision high stability cracked carbon resistors of one watt ratting are used. Boxes using high stability cracked carbon resistors are preferred for high frequency operation to boxes using wire wound resistors because the former are non-inductive and non-capacitive. Further they can withstand high wattage dissipation at lower values of resistance. The Decade Resistance Boxes use 11-position switches to select any resistance value which can be read directly by the knob settings.
