The product PROGEN, the diesel generating sets, closely related to technical and designing department with long time experience has permanently positioned itself among the world top products. Production base where quality and proper processing are on the first place allows to manufacture reliable products with high performance. Very tight connection among production, designing and service creates groundwork for flexible reaction on customer's demands and permits to prepare various customer application. Service: Our company regards sales and after-sales service as one of the most important factors. Customers are provided with full back-up service from consultant, installation and mounting to warranty and standard service including spare parts delivery. New machines are under warranty for 12 or 18 months since the starting or delivery respectively. Projects, consultation and mounting: We are able to provide our customers with full projecting and mounting work as well as "turn-key delivery". Projects companies are supported by our experts consultation and supplied with complete documentation needed for successful built-in of PROGEN diesel generating sets into other technologies. Description of diesel generating set: DG sets are assembled only from proved components giving guarantee of quality and durability. DG sets in basic assembly are equipped with control system DC 110, voltmeter, ammeter and hour counter Generator circuit breaker, battery charger, starting battery, exhaust gas muffler, water cooler, built-in daily fuel tank and air filter are included. Assembly variation: Island operation (operation of DG set without any connection to public net). Stand-by (automatic start at power failure without any interference from operator). Stand-by with reverse synchronization (power drop only at power failure, net recovery is without interruption). Parallel operation (possibility of parallel operation of two or more units, or parallel operation with net - it is used with advantage for power peak limiting). Mobile execution. Mobile execution with various canopies of different noise reduction. Simple canopy (weather-proof). Silent execution (for interior or exterior installation). Features
- After activating of controller are LED light up:
- Red high light intensity, low oil pressure.
- Red low light intensity, generator failure.
- Yellow, charging failure.
- Green, net voltage, if it is present or if this input is connected(without ATS).
- Yellow, mode AUT.
- This state signals, that everything is in order.
- Measuring of electric variables:
- Measuring of electric variables is provided by standard instruments of dimensions 96 x 96mm. These are electric variables of generator.
- Measuring of engine variables:
- Measuring of engine variables is provided by circular gauges and serve for general information for operator. Critical states of engine are protected by another instruments.
- Approximate values of operating generating set are: Battery voltage: 26-28 V. Oil pressure: approx. 5 Bar. Water temperature: 60-80 Celsius. Fuel level: in accord with tank capacity.
- CENTRAL STOP push-button:
- This push-button has usual function-immediately stops generating set, disconnect them from load and disconnect all controlling voltages. After using this button, the controller is switched off, and measuring of engine variables is also off. The same result is reached by switching key-box to "OFF" position.
- It is possible to connect to the generating set a remote CENTRAL STOP push-button. Because of this button disconnects controlling voltages, it is not recommended to connect them through long conductors with LV.
- Glow push-button:
- GLOW push-button serves for heating of glowing plug in a intake manifold. Glowing plug is heated after pushing button for 50 sec. and easy start in low temperature is enabled (ambient temperature below 5 Celsius). Glowing is not necessary to use if permanent water heater is installed-stand-by generating sets.
- Controlling of genset: Controlling is executed from the panel, from the controller, or remotely accordingly to schematic drawings. There is no difference between local and remote control.
- Mode choice: Mode choice is done only from controller by mode push buttons. Controller enables three basic modes: Mode AUT:
- This mode can be activated from controller by pushing AUT button-Yellow LED lights up. This mode is automatically use after any emergency stop of generating set.
- It is used in connection with ATS panel for normal stand-by type of operation. The net is watched by voltage relay and in case of net voltage failure, after pre-set period, the generating set is started with periodical starting attempts, till starting speed of engine is reached. Starting period consists from 1-3 starting attempts with appropriate pause. Time for starting and pause is adjustable from 5 to 15 sec.
- Over crank: If any starting attempt is not successful, than the failure "Over crank" is displayed. Reset of this failure is possible only after expiring period responding to preset pause among starting attempts.
- Successful start: Starting speed is reached within any of starting(20-40% rated speed). Starter is disconnected, fuel valve or stop solenoid is open, and protecting period is started. Within this period the LED "Low oil pressure", "Generator failure" and "Charging failure" must blank out, otherwise the generating set is stopped.
- Load connection: If the rated speed and the correct voltage are reached(green LED "generator voltage" lights up), the generator is switched on consumption(the green LED "generator circuit breaker" lights up).
- The generating set supply power till the net recovers(green "Net voltage" LED light up). The consumption is certain period supplied, and if it is sure to have net in order, consumption is switched on the net. Stopping period starts with disconnecting generator circuit breaker and connecting net circuit breaker. Than the generating set is cooled without load. The stop solenoid is off and genset stops. Failure signaling is activated for the all time of run.
- AUT mode in island type of operation is used as free. The generating set is out of operation till another mode is choice. It can be used for stopping of running generating set-after push button, the generating set runs for certain period and than is automatically stopped.
- Mode GEN:
- This mode is activated after press button GEN-yellow LED above this button lights up.
- This mode can be used in any type of operation for immediate start and connection generator to the load. The same periodical start is executed as in mode AUT, but immediately after pressing the button. The generating set is immediately disconnected from load in case of change type of operation. Than the generating set is cooled during run without load, and after preset period is stopped.
- The same function has signal from external starting. This signal is contact one and it is possible to lead it to terminal board in POWER BOX. Its state is signaled by green LED on controller.
- This mode in stand-by operation is mostly used for testing of generating set with load, or in case we know that power interruption is becoming.
- Mode TEST:
- This mode is activated after press button TEST-yellow LED above this button lights up.
- It is used in stand-by operation for testing generating set without load. The generating set is standartly started, but it is not connected to the load. If during test, the power from the net is interrupted, the generator circuit breaker is immediately switch on to the load. Than is better to switch generating set to mode AUT, otherwise after net return back, the generating set is not stopped.
- All other features are same as in mode GEN.
- It is recommended to perform the TEST about 5 minutes one in a month. During test run must not appears any failure and engine and generator variables should be in common range. The generating set must be visually checked during test run, as well as leaking of liquids.
- Failure signaling:
- Failure signaling consists from set of LED, which signal faults during run and after stop genset as well the red LED signal danger failures and yellow LED warn.
- Low intensity of illumination during stop of genset show failure state in protected period, it means, in time when this failure does not cause any crash(e.g. oil pressure is zero, but it is not crash).
- More information are in instruction book for controller.
- At failure stop of generating set remain relevant LED lights even after stop of generating set. This enable identify cause of stopping.
- RESET button enable to clear this information.
- All LED are light up during pressing of this button.
- It also serves for their testing.
- After releasing of button all LED light down, except low fuel level and charging.
- Some of engine warning will light slightly as described above.
- Low oil pressure:
- This failure is extremely dangerous for diesel engine. Never start generating set immediately after this failure! At first make sure enough lubricating oil in the sump, check oil pressure sensor and its cable. If everything is in order, call service!
- After you will remedy the cause, try to start genset in TEST mode. If it appears again, call service!
- High water temperature:
- This is also serious failure. Never start generating set immediately after this failure! At first make sure proper coolant level in engine and leave cool down engine at least to 60 Celsius. If it appears again, call service!
- Generator failure:
- Generator failure is signaled at over-voltage(approx. 295 V) or under-voltage(approx. 160 V). This failure can be cause even from other signals out of controller(e.g. frequency relay etc.). The generating set can be shortly started after this failure and check generator voltage or frequency. If it appears again, call service!
- Over speed:
- This failure is extremely dangerous for diesel engine. Never start generating set after this failure and call service!
- Over crank:
- This failure is signaled when three starting attempts are not successful. It is not so serious failure, but it can cause flat batteries. If the generating set is equipped with automatic charger, you must wait some time for battery charging. See trouble-shooting in engine booklet or consult service.
- Charging failure:
- This signal has same meanings like in the car. The warning is activated if alternator stops charging. The generating set is not stopped and runs till batteries are able to feed controller or stop-solenoid. It could be caused by loose or broken V-belt of alternator. In case of failure alternator call service.
- Low fuel level warning:
- This warning is independent from state of generating set and warns from engine stop due to lack of fuel. It is possible to run with attention of limited time of operation.
