The XT Series has been available since 1983. It continues to be one of our top selling products lines, achieving the highest volume sales in 1995. It was the launch into the emerging phase of power supplies which were a significant improvement in design and specifications from existing power supplies. The goal of the Xantrex engineering team was to maximize the use of common components, reduce building and testing times and reduce costs. New features include flexible interfacing with any future optional control card, digital display meters, and molded plastic panels which reduced overall material costs. The XT line has been used by our customers in virtually every part of their manufacturing process - from design to production test. The XT can be combined with HPD units for higher power requirements. It can be controlled by using analog programming or by optional interface cards such as the RS232, GPIB, SAMI. The HPD Series answered market demands for a higher powered, lightweight unit. This was achieved by using switch mode technology, including a linear post regular and reducing the size of components. It offer 300 watts of power packed into a 1/4 width rack, weighing only 8 pounds. Modularity and ease of manufacture were also key issues on the design. The XT and HPD Series use the same front panel control board, internal interface boards, and mechanical housing. They are available in single, triple, and quad configurations. Both series are rack mountable.
